Spiral Sanctuary:: A New Cathedral for Vienna
In response to lower church attendance and social trends toward mass customization, this cathedral has been divided into 5 smaller, more intimate spaces that allow the individual to have their own journey.  Each node or tower takes one from a dark narrow space up a spiraling ramp towards a light open space.  During the slow, meditative walk towards the sky one experiences the layering of different skins, views of the city, and a juxtaposition of quiet, still spaces with spaces of transition and movement.

all of the above are a little dark but try to show the latest developments with particular attention to the bridging between the main tower and the side tower next to it.  some images have none of the small mushroom chapels because they obscure the view of the edge conditions of the bridge surface.  in other images the mushrooms are transparent because they are placeholders for ones that will have much more articulation + deformation
